We formed DENSA in 2018. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of amazing community! . We hope to support educators with acquiring knowledge and resources that will enable them to create an inclusive, equitable, rich, and culturally responsive school community. The mission of this organization is to organize, deliver and implement a variety of opportunities and events that will engage our students, educators and our parent community.

In the last decade, the Durham region has seen a conspicuous change in its demographics. There has been an influx of families who identify as South Asian (a majority of them new immigrants). As educators, it is important for us to cater to every community and ensure that all of our students’ voices and agencies are represented, and that, they are served equitably so that they can achieve their best given the resources available to them.
