SWIS Durham is committed to providing quality initial settlement services to newcomer families with school aged children in the region of Durham; offering service that is; confidential, culturally appropriate, non-judgemental and sensitive to the needs of the client, in an inclusive, accessible manner that empowers and fosters client independence.

TCCCA’s mission is to work towards the success of all Tamil Canadians in the social, political, economic and cultural spheres of Canada through education, documentation, engagement, training, mobilization, research, policy change and collaboration.

 We are recruiting Community Education ambassadors from the Urdu and Tamil speaking communities in Northwest Durham to spearhead our organization’s efforts to connect these communities with social service providers in the region. Community Education Ambassadors will be trained to facilitate access to information, resources, and services in their communities. Ambassadors will work to build long-lasting partnerships between frontline organizations, elected representatives, community members, and other stakeholders. They will also play a key role in facilitating virtual community forums, training sessions, and a social media campaign.
